Best Wine in the Lisbon Region
The wines from the terroirs of Lisbon are highly appreciated for their very distinct character. Of all the lands of this
wine region, Alenquer wines are among the most appreciated.
In general, "The Alenquer region produces some of the most prestigious DOC wines in the Lisbon region (reds and
whites). In this area, the vineyards are protected from the Atlantic winds, favoring the maturation of the grapes and the production of
more concentrated wines. In other areas of the Lisbon region, red wines are aromatic, elegant, rich in
tannins and able to age a few years in bottle. White wines are characterized by their freshness and
citrus character" [1].
