Torres Vedras Wines

The vineyards of Torres Vedras DOC are situated in the center of the Lisbon Region. The vineyards cover hills and hills, and occupy an area of just over 7,000 ha. The municipality of Torres Vedras is the largest wine producer in Portugal.

Elective Wines

According to what has been reported, "almost all people of taste, and delicate taste, who drink of the private wine, even prefer it to that of the Douro, and to the best foreigner, for ordinary use of the table" [1]. The denomination of the vineyards of Torres Vedras demarcated for the production of regional wine took place at the beginning of century XX.

Main Breeds

For the production of the Torres Vedras Wine the following vine varieties are used: Aragonez, Castelão and Alicante Bouschet, among others.

Excellent Red and Whites

The Torres Vedras red wines - such as Bonifacio - as well as white ones - such as the Dory - with a lot of tradition are considered excellent choices.
