Palmelas Wines
The Palmela vineyards, located south of Lisbon, produce the famous wines of Palmela DOC, on the Setúbal Peninsula.

The vineyards of the Peninsula of Setúbal produce 3 denominations, namely: D.O.C. Palmela, D.O.C. Setúbal and the Regional Wine Terras do Sado, the river that
crosses the region.
Main Breeds
For the production of DOC Palmela, the inks predominate (80% of these). Caste Castelão, which in the region is known as Periquita, reaches 95%
of red varieties. In addition to other national grape varieties, the wines of Palmela Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet
Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc are also produced.
For the elaboration of the white wines, the most used varieties are: Fernão Pires and the Moscatel variety of Setúbal.

Among the good wines of Palmela, DOC Palmela and DOC Palmela Reserva are among the best.
