Lourinhã Wines

Area essentially producing brandy. "The region of Lourinhã is traditionally a producer of wine spirits whose quality has been recognized since the middle of the century" [1].

The denomination of origin Lourinhã was the first demarcated region of Portugal for exclusive production of brandy. With this, the area destined to the production of wine has reduced considerably, with only 815 ha.

Main Breeds

For the production of DOC Lourinhã the following castes are used: Seminar, White Alicante, Marquinhas and Cabinda.

Lourinhã Brandy

Lourinhã's Eau-de-Vie, a product of excellence in its category, is produced in the only region of Portugal demarcated for this purpose. Its acceptance in several countries shows that it owes nothing to even more fierce competitors.
