Encostas d'Aire Wines

The vineyards occupy the largest cultivated area of the northern region of Lisbon, on the slopes of Serra de Aires, in the municipalities of Batalha, Porto de Mós and Ourém, where are situated the Encostas d'Aire DOC. Besides these, they include part of the counties of Alcobaça, Caldas da Rainha, Leiria and Pombal. In addition to the local varieties, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are also used.

Fruity reds

Of ruby color, the red wines are light, sometimes presenting fruity and compote aromas, they are wines balanced, with certain astringency that attenuates when aging; Soft tannins that guarantee good evolution in the bottle.

Aromatic and fruity whites

The white wines of the Encostas d'Aire (DOC) are neither too full nor have a high alcohol content, which is why the freshness of their acidity is one of their characteristics. They are soft and light wines, loaded with yellow. The white wines of Encostas d'Aire (DOC) are fruity both in terms of flavor and aromas that persist as they evolve.

For the production of the wines of DOC Encostas d'Aire (PDO) the following varieties are used: Boal Branco, Vital, Bical, Bastardo, Tamarez, Malvasia Fina, Mouse, Syrah, Seara Nova, Cabernet Sauvignon, Arinto, Rabo de Ovelha , Trincadeira, Fernao Pires, Cercial, Castelão, Aragonez, Amostrinha, Trincadeira Branca, Alicante Bouschet, Alicante White, Alfrocheiro, Caladoc, Jampal, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Rufete, Chardonnay, Tinta Miuda, Baga, Diagalves, among others.
