Main Breeds
For the production of Bairrada DOC, the following varieties are used: Fernão Pires and Chardonnay (white), Baga and Touriga (red),
among others.
The Baga grape variety gives the red wines of the Bairrada DOC its full-bodied character, rich in tannins, which leads to their being
consumed later.
