The municipality and city of Paredes are located in the Porto Metropolitan Area, in the Porto District, Douro Litoral, in the North of Portugal.
Location
Located in the AMP - Porto Metropolitan Area - Paredes borders to the northeast, with Lousada, to the north with Amarante, to the west with Valongo, to the south and to the southwest with Gondomar, and to the east with Penafiel.Area and Population
With an area of 157 km², Paredes currently has a population of 84,354 inhabitants (INE, 2021).The municipality reached its peak population in 2011, when it had 86,854 inhabitants (INE, 2011).
