Barlavento and Sotavento

From Costa Vicentina in the Algarve to the right bank of the Guadiana, on the border with Spain, the Algarve offers us around 200 km of beautiful beaches.

This meeting of blue or greenish sea, sun and nature created beaches shaped in a scenario of great beauty: golden sands, ocher or reddish cliffs.

Barlavento

It forms the western part of the Algarve; for many, the best beaches in Portugal are to be found in Barlavento.

The Barlavento (Western Algarve) extends from Aljezur (the Costa Vicentina) to Albufeira.

Sotavento

Sotavento, on the other hand, corresponds to the eastern coast of the District of Faro (Algarve).

The Sotavento (Eastern Algarve) extends from Faro to Vila Real de Santo Antônio, already on the border with Spain.
