and currently comprises three old settlements (
Lumiar, Paço do Lumiar and Telheiras), in addition to a new space
with modern features, Alta de Lisboa.
In the most recent reformulation, Lumiar takes territory from Carnide and cedes territory to Olivais.
Freguesia do Lumiar,
located in the extreme northwest of the city of Lisbon, it is 9 km away from the Sé de
Lisbon. Like the neighboring parish of Santa Clara, it is the northern limit of the municipality of Lisbon.

Most populous parish and resident population on the rise
With 6.57 km², the
Freguesia do Lumiar - the most populous in Lisbon - has a population
of 46,338 inhabitants (INE, 2021). In 2011, the parish had 45,605 inhabitants (idem), having had
small increase in the resident population in this period.

The Quinta do Monteiro-Mor
Parque do Monteiro-Mor, also known as Quinta do Monteiro-Mor, is a park located
in the Parish of Lumiar. This set includes the National Museum of Costume and the National Museum of Theater and
Dance.

Botanical Park of Monteiro-Mor is classified as a Monument of Portugal. unmissable visit to
interested in the evolution of clothing and customs, fashion, loom and dance, in addition, of course, to natural beauties
from the park.

Location
The northern limit of the
Municipality of Lisbon, the
Parish of Lumiar
is limited to the north by the municipality of
Odivelas
and with the Parish of
Santa Clara,
to the east, with the Parish of
Olivais;
to the southeast, with the Parish of
Alvalade
and to the southeast, with the Parish of
São Domingos de Benfica.
