The Arroios Parish, whose name evokes the numerous watercourses that existed there, is located to the north of the central area of Lisbon, crossed (in a north-south direction) by the important Avenida Almirante Reis.

Arroios Parish is the sixth most populous parish in Lisbon.

Growth of the resident population
With 2.13 km² surface area, the Parish of Arroios has 33,307 inhabitants (INE, 2021). In 2011, the Parish of Arroios had 31,653 inhabitants, having had a significant growth in its population resident during this period.

The Empire Cinema, Sotto Mayor Palace, Old Campo de Santana Bullring, Viúva Lamego Factory, Largo do Intendant Pina Manique, Chapel of Paço da Bemposta; convents, churches and many other attractions.

Avenida Almirante Reis

Avenida Almirante Reis is one of the main arteries of Lisbon. The avenue connects Sá Carneiro Square to Rua da Palma and to the city center.
