Alcântara
Alcântara Parish is located in the west of Lisbon. The parish of Alcântara has its name
from the Arabic word
al-kantara, which means bridge. A good part of its territory is covered by
part of the Monsanto Forest Park and Tapada da Ajuda.

Philippine rule over Portugal
