From Lisbon to Porto there is a super fast line, the Alfa Pendular, which combines comfort and speed in this route between the two Portuguese metropolises.

AML is the most populous metropolitan region in Portugal, with almost 2.9 million inhabitants. Only the North Region is more populous.

North of the Tagus, this entire large metropolitan area is known as the Lisbon Peninsula. The part south of the river is known as the Setúbal Peninsula.

The AML Coast

The coast of the AML, in addition to the estuaries of the two great rivers (the Tagus and the Sado) is formed by a narrow strip of sand which ends in cliffs (cliffs), with some exceptions (Costa da Caparica - May 2023r AML beach, Praia do Guincho). Costa da Caparica stretches from Trafaria to Bicas beach, with its beautiful and immense sand.

In addition to the largest urban agglomeration in the country (Lisbon), Sintra, Cascais, Loures, Almada and Oeiras complete the podium of the Top 5 largest cities in Portugal.

Greater Porto
