Alijó is included in the second sub-region of the
Alto Douro Vinhateiro, the
Cima Corgo; the

Alijó is located in the eastern part of the Vila Real district. The municipality municipality is limited to the north by the municipalities

Vila Pouca de Aguiar and
Murça, east by
Carrazeda de Ansiães, to the south by
